Pasture Farm is situated in a non-commercialized
area, but almost within the magnificent Lake District National Park.
The
tranquil village of West Newton, and the small market town of Aspatria are both only
one and a half miles away.
The seaside villages of Silloth and Allonby are just down the country lanes, and
the coastal towns of Maryport, and Whitehaven with their marinas are a little
further down the coast.
The historic city of Carlisle with it's castle is within easy driving distance.
We have plenty of quiet country lanes,
which can be explored on foot, by bicycle
or on horseback.
Pub meals are available in the nearby villages of West Newton and Aspatria..
There are also lots of other attractions - something for
everyone, whatever the weather!

Solfest.
Music festival on the Solway Firth.
By having a great line-up of bands,
and making tickets some of the cheapest available for any festival, the Solfest
is guaranteed to be a fantastic experience for everyone!
Bring your camping gear, your fancy dress for Saturday night, and of course
don't forget your wellies.
Come to Solfest for a rockin' good Bank Holiday weekend every August.
The Maryport Blues
Festival 2008
had 50 bands,
performing on three stages and in over 20 venues around the town, from all over the UK, the US, Australia and mainland Europe, making it the biggest
blues party of the decade !
Artists included - Chuck Berry, Jools Holland, and legendary blues
guitarist, Jimmie Vaughan.
"Be there or be square" in 2009.

Hadrian's Wall.
Frontier of the Roman Empire. The most important monument built by the
Romans in Britain, and is the best known frontier in the entire Roman
Empire. Spanning the country from Wallsend in the East to Bowness-on
Solway in the west, it took 6 years to build and was 5 metres (15 feet) high.
Ravenglass and
Eskdale railway. From the coast to the foot of England's highest
mountain, 7 miles of steam in The Lake District National Park.
Powerful small scale, locomotives, with both open and covered carriages.
Cycle carrying carriages, make this an ideal starting point for walks, cycle
touring or just a fun day out for all the family. These engines are not
miniatures.
Eden Ostrich World.
Plenty for everyone to see and do at this award winning attraction.. Many
rare breeds of animals, including an amazing Zeebroid foal.
Pets corner, adventure play areas, picnic areas etc. Why not turn up for
milking time ? But this is not cows, it's sheep !! Try the sheep's
milk products. You can probably get them at the Baaaaa.
Lake
District Coastal Aquarium, Maryport. one of the best marine aquariums
in Europe. Over 2000 fish, 200 different species, 45 dramatic
displays. Get your hands in a rock pool, stroke the rays and see the fish
at feeding time.
West Coast Indoor
Karting. Experience the thrills, and spills of motorsport in relative
safety, and at a realistic price. Indoor carts fitted with high strength
bumpers and all round hydraulic brakes for driver safety. Powerful 200cc
engines capable of speeds in excess of 35 mph. Practice sessions for
children and adults. Please book in advance.
Solway Coiast Discovery
Centre.
Unique exhibition of Solway Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Siuated in Silloth, adjoining the Tourist Information centre.
Maryport
Maritime Museum. Delve into Maryport's maritime heritage.
Discover links with Fletcher Christian, of "Mutiny on The Bounty"
fame.
Sunset Leisure Centre,
Stanix,
Silloth. Excellent indoor leisure and entertainment. Swimming pool,
bowling etc. They have cabaret evenings here and themed weekends such as
"Rock and Roll", "ABBA" etc
Lakeland Sheep
and Wool Centre. Western Lake District Visitor Centre, on A66 - A5086
roundabout, Egremont Road, Cockermouth.
Cumbria Venue of the year. A real chance to meet Cumbria's most
famous residents. Visitors are guaranteed a wonderfully woolly experience,
bringing you face to face with many different breeds of live sheep, during
indoor presentations - 4 times daily, 5 times a week. Trained sheep dogs
and introduction to cows.
